Michelle is a local artist, educator and design consultant who works from her North Coast home studio where she lives with her husband, daughter, hens, peacocks and horses.
Her background is in woven textiles with her previous work being sponsored by the Guardian; her work has been exhibited nationally, London and Dublin and internationally as far away as Australia.
She is Head of the Art and Design Department at Loreto College (Coleraine) where she has worked for the past 18 years.
Michelle is a member of the steering group of North Coast World Earth and is passionate about education for sustainability and caring for our wonderful location and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Michelle was inspired by Kate Murphy’s “How the Salmon became King of the Fish” story and created a children’s storybook with accompanying story bag, textiles and puppets.
She even managed to undertake some sand art at Downhill Beach showcasing the different elements of the story.
